Ministry

We are committed to providing a full spectrum of Christian ministry for children, youth, young adults and families. One definition of ministry is “the faithful service of God’s people rendered unto God and others on His behalf to bring Him glory, build up His church, and reach out to His world.”

The Greek word in the New Testament that is often translated as “ministry” is diakonia. The basic meaning of this word is “service.” The term is not limited to the service of a select few individuals appointed to particular offices within the church. And this is certainly not the case at Highway Assembly of God, where members of the congregation are engaged as “lay ministers” across all areas of the church’s ministry. We believe that the New Testament makes it clear that all who have been born of the Spirit have been endowed with one or more spiritual gifts given to contribute to the needs of others.

So, whether you have need for ministry or you are looking for a church where you can use your spiritual gifts to help others, consider joining us at Highway as we endeavor to be “a light set on a hill” to all those in our community.
